Bernard’s long-standing partnerships with multi-generational grape growers are rooted in shared principles of viticulture, winemaking, and a passion for wines that are meant to be enjoyed together. Bernard produces small lots of meticulously crafted wines that highlight the unique characteristics of both the region and the vintage, sourced from some of France’s most renowned winemaking areas.
The Plan de Dieu (God’s Plain), with a winemaking history dating back to the 14th century, is known for its rich, powerfully flavored wines, thanks to deep pebble beds. The fruit, grown organically, is hand-harvested before undergoing traditional fermentation in small open fermenters, followed by nine months of maturation in two to three-year-old large oak barrels. The wine is bottled without fining and with minimal sulfite additions.
