The 2023 Yarra Valley Pinot Noir from Giant Steps is made from a blend of fruit across the estate’s top vineyard sites. It’s a clean, well-balanced Pinot Noir that reflects the cool climate and precise winemaking. The nose shows red cherry, raspberry and light spice. On the palate it’s medium-bodied, with good acidity, soft tannins and just enough oak to support the fruit. Fermentation was done with wild yeast, and the wine was matured in French oak (15% new) for 8 months. No fining, no filtration.

This wine is made to be approachable but also shows the structure and clarity that make it a solid reflection of the Yarra Valley style. It’s ready to drink now but will hold for a few years. Good value, clean fruit, no over-extraction, no over-oaking. Just solid, well-made Pinot.
